Description
Calacatta Luxe is a new Sintered Stone surface, launched by Neolith® in December 2019. Inspired by globally revered Carrara marble, it’s an original and contemporary interpretation of the Italian stone’s renowned spontaneous pattern, turning up the contrast for dramatic effect. Calacatta Luxe combines striations of dark greys, inky blues, tobacco browns and subtle golds for a mesmerizing vein, contrasting against a bright white background. The surface is offered in ¼” and ½” thicknesses and is available in 126” x 64” and 126” x 60” formats. The slabs come with a Polished or a brand-new Ultrasoft finish. Mimicking the feeling of clean cut, unpolished, natural marble, Ultrasoft responds to a growing trend for tactile surfacing materials. Available for all interior and exterior applications, Calacatta Luxe is suitable for worktops, walls, floors and cladding. It’s non-porous, resistant to extreme temperatures and wear and unaffected by UV exposure. Calacatta Luxe embodies all the super-resistant, high-performance and ultra-hygienic qualities inherent in all Neolith’s surfaces. Created through Neolith’s proprietary method of exposing minerals and other raw materials to extremely high pressure and temperature (over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit), the process gives the product outstanding physical and mechanical properties in terms of compaction, resistance and durability. Calacatta Luxe has a 100% organic composition, a proportion of which is made from recycled natural material. It’s a low-carbon, zero-emission, VOC-free, no waste material. Calacatta Luxe’s pattern was created using Neolith’s pioneering Hydro-NDD 2.0, meaning the decoration is produced using water-based, rather than solvent-based, inks. When used for cladding, Calacatta Luxe can be specified with PURETi, a photocatalytic finishing treatment which breaks down harmful greenhouse gases. Its green credentials mean it has the potential to make a significant contribution towards the attainment of LEED points, fast becoming a core requirement in many construction projects.
