PureBond® is the original proven, North American-made decorative hardwood plywood with ZERO-added formaldehyde. PureBond® is Columbia Forest Products’ exclusive formaldehyde-free innovation for hardwood plywood assembly, which replaced traditional urea-formaldehyde glues, which can degrade indoor air quality. Soy-based PureBond has been enabling architects to eliminate formaldehyde in their use of domestic hardwood plywood panels since 2005. Derived from a simple, PH-controlled blend of soy flour, a small amount of wet-strength resin is used in printed currency and milk cartons to help strengthen and maintain the soy protein bond under use.
