Description
ACRE by Modern Mill products is a breakthrough in the building materials space. Made from upcycled rice hulls in a zero-waste facility, ACRE offers the beauty of rich wood species like cedar, Ipe, teak, and mahogany, without the environmental cost. These traditional woods take centuries to regrow and require high maintenance, while Modern Mill products deliver the same aesthetic with superior durability and minimal upkeep. Unlike typical composites, ACRE has a true wood grain, no capstock or plasticky finish, offering a natural look and feel. It’s slip-resistant, comfortable underfoot, and can be stained or finished to mimic hardwoods. ACRE is a “much loved” product for architects, builders and installers. Available in siding, decking, trim, and millwork. It offers the workability of wood and requires no special tools. Modern Mill products are easy to rout, cut, sand, and be thermoformed for corners, curves, and shapes and does not require primer. ACRE accepts paint and is the only stainable composite. Modern Mill products exceed other composites by performing better without harmful dust, static cling, or residue. It’s the only stainable composite. It has superior screw and nail retention, resists mushrooming and splitting, and requires no pre-drilling. Its stiffness and strength reduce jobsite breakage, giving builders a competitive advantage. Beyond performance, ACRE offers unmatched sustainable properties contributing to the reduction of deforestation and carbon emissions. Modern Mill diverts tons of pounds of rice hulls from landfills every year to make ACRE. For each pallet we sell, one acre of rainforest or hardwood species is preserved. With Modern Mill products, there are more opportunities for builders to help customers simulate wood and natural environments in their spaces without harming a single tree.
