Indiewalls is art consulting for a new generation – a digital marketplace that cultivates connections between designers and artists around the globe. Developed in response to the need for high-quality art in the commercial sector, Indiewalls has become entrenched at the intersection of art and design. Modernizing the art discovery and fulfillment process is the foundation of Indiewalls, and dictates their tech-centric approach to art consulting. Through the website, interior designers and architects post their art needs directly to a community of vetted artists and expert curators. Information and media, typically exchanged over PDFs and emails, now lives in one online portal – a ‘Project.’ The Project acts as a guide to artists and curators. Once a Project goes live, pre-vetted artists read the description, determine if their work is a good fit, and ‘pitch’ artwork directly to the designer. All artwork is reviewed and rated by the designer in-app, which communicates feedback and preferences in real time leading to further refined art options. Once a designer is ready to present their refined art package for approval, art details and specifications can be downloaded from Indiewalls for final approval and purchasing. Each Project is supervised by an Indiewalls Curator who helps with curation and art selection, in addition to managing pricing, contracts, production, and installation. This innovative method of art discovery and online project management brings accessibility and efficiency to the design industry by giving architects and interior designers a platform to easily source high quality artwork from artists worldwide. In doing so, Indiewalls is also providing artists direct avenues for new sale and commission opportunities.
