Description
Pls Hs is an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) developed by our award-winning design firm, Minarc. ADUs were seen as a common component of a house before the suburban development boom began in 1940. Californias regulatory changes in 2017 now allow homeowners to more easily add accessory dwellings to their property. They allow for the option of independent living to help with overall assistance for the homeowners, with companionship, or with income. Cities such as Los Angeles are now offering incentivized grants to homeowners to construct ADUs. Such as the incentivized grant being provided by the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) of $75,000 to construct new ADUs along with $50,000 in order to rehab existing unpermitted ADUs. More and more cities are introducing new ways to attract residents to explore options for an ADU. Pls Hs (Icelandic forplushouse) is a fully recyclable 320 square foot (16 X 20) accessory dwelling unit (ADU) created using the high-efficiency building material as the structure, mnmMOD. Pls Hs has custom features to accommodate different needs and styles and provides a detached private space on ones property to create additional space and utilized however you imagine, i.e. home office, yoga studio, gym, rental space, etc. Pls Hs also employs cost-effective, innovative design and construction, includingsustainabledevelopment by utilizing the mnmMOD building material. The modular mnmMOD panel system is locally made with 30% recycled steel and 100% recyclable EPF, and exceeds current California insulation requirement standards. This groundbreaking system eliminates waste, does not support fire or use of dyes, and is free of formaldehyde and Molten-Carbonate fuel cells. The extremely high insulation value minimizes energy usage and associated costs, resulting in a structure that is 40 percent more efficient than a traditionally-built home.
