Description
TruffleBEECH by Mehling & Wiesmann ? Veneers for bon vivants The Mehling & Wiesmann Company has dedicated itself to refining domestic woods. Only mature roundwood that is the product of sustainably managed forestry is used. Wood is an authentic, ecological and timeless material and charms in all its facets. Mehling & Wiesmann develops woods without persisting in traditionally learned criteria for wood quality, but rather pays attention to the eco-balance and the availability of the valuable raw material. The ?TruffleBEECH? ? a new registered trademark from Mehling & Wiesmann ? is the best example of that philosophy and terms unique, expressive fungi modified veneers that have previously only been used as firewood. The wood specialists at Mehling & Wiesmann were inspired by the muse called nature and created this woods with strong structure and a marble-like look. In this way they stain the natural product in the most environmentally sensitive method. New techniques with fungi create patterns and discolorations in the wood on the entire length of the trunk and allow slicing the logs into 0.6mm thin veneers. These are used for furniture, kitchens and interior building providing a beautiful and lively contrast to other materials. TruffleBEECH veneers are a warm, lively and authentic contrast to many other materials like stone, metal and glass. TruffleBEECH veneers have won the interzum award 2015 and the German Design award 2016. Wood for connoisseurs and the result of an exemplary cooperation of nature and the latest technologies!
