Fade is a tethered, height-adjustable benching system with a minimalist design and an emphasis on privacy options. Two highlights are its edge banding\u2013free desktop, which prevents germs from gathering in small crevices, and its waterfall edge for privacy. It also has a power system and removable privacy panels. Fade provides the visible privacy of a cubicle without its limitations or conventional design.Pair used a wrapped laminate to eliminate edge banding, which makes Fade easy to clean and prevents germs and gunk from accumulating. Its user-error-proof power system prevents cables from getting messy by routing them off the back edge of the desk, where they cascade into an enclosed storage bay. Inside the bay is a power strip that all cables must be plugged into, resulting in a single clean coiled cord that exits out the bottom of the enclosure. The distinctive waterfall edge is a modesty panel that creates privacy and moves with the work surface when the user adjusts their desk\u2019s height. Between the waterfall edge and the end panel, which is next to the lifting columns, are a \u215c-inch gap and glides. The glides prevent the waterfall edge from leaving tracks on the end panel when the desktop lifts and lowers. Fade has two removable panel\u2013based privacy elements: desk-mounted screens and vertical panels between neighboring workstations. The desk-mounted screen is a PET panel at the front of each desk that attaches to the desk's cable manager, moving up and down with the desk without additional manual adjustment. This panel provides privacy from the person directly across from the user at both standing and seated height. Large vertical PET dividers that provide privacy between neighboring deskmates are mounted to the base of the structure.
